The challenge

What if a game could help end extreme poverty?

Hide and Seek Change is more than just a game – it’s a team challenge that helps transform lives around the world.

Race between five checkpoints, complete the challenges, and track down your hidden leader. First team there wins.

Every pound raised helps Tearfund reach places where conflict, climate disaster, and injustice push millions of people into the unrelenting hardship of extreme poverty.

How to start your race

Why it matters

Seek change. End extreme poverty for good.

Over 700 million people live in extreme poverty — on less than £1.60 a day. Tragically, 3 million of those living in extreme poverty are children under five.

Your hunt for the hidden leader supports your global neighbours facing extreme poverty.

  • Seek justice. Show up with faith.
  • Hunt for hope. Stand with your global neighbours in crisis.
  • Change the future. Fund tools and training that helps people rewrite their future.

Got questions?

It is designed for any group of young people aged 11 to 25. Whether you are a youth group, a student society, or a bunch of mates from church, if you are ready for a mission, you are in.

We recommend a full-day format of four to five hours to get the best fundraising story. However, the game is flexible – you can scale it down for a quick evening session or stretch it into a 24-hour challenge.

Rain is actually a selling point! A tougher challenge usually makes sponsors even more generous. Unless the conditions are genuinely dangerous, the hunt stays on.

Every pound your group raises goes to Tearfund’s work with local churches and communities globally. You are funding the tools and training people need to beat extreme poverty for good.

Safety is paramount. You must follow your own organisation’s safeguarding policy first, but our Leader’s Guide provides a checklist to help your risk assessment.
